SD Surf Girls Head to ODP Regionals

As part of the final 18 players named to the ODP Girls 95 team, SD Surf’s Andrea Leano, Ana Cruz and Courtney Coate will be traveling to Phoenix, Arizona this weekend to play in the ODP Regional finals.

All three girls were selected out of an original group of 32, who have been trying out for the past month. Leano, who is a freshman at Westview HS, is one of the goalies for the ODP team. Cruz, who attends La Jolla Country Day, plays midfield for the ODP team while Coate, who attends Bernardo Heights MS, sets up at fullback.

The ODP team, coached by John Napier (FC San Diego) and assistant coach Eric Lona (Carlsbad Lightning/San Marcos HS), will face off against Utah, Arizona and New Mexico in bracket play of the finals.
